Windy is a 2000 (estimated) Bay Quarter Horse mare previously used as a broodmare, not broke to ride.
She arrived on March 2015 saved from the kill buyer, and gave birth on April 3, 2015 to a foal we named "Stormy" due to weather the night before her birth.
Windy is untrained and has not been handled much at all. At first she would only let us touch her head, but got nervous when brushed across her body.
Now she lets us catch her and rub her all over. She is fast learning to trust us and shows remarkable response to training.
This horse has serious potential to be whatever a patient owner and trainer wants her to be!
She is well-tempered, does not offer to kick.
The first time we had her feet done in August of 2015, she was not at all sure of what was being asked of her.
We had to stop short of finishing. However, the second time, 6 weeks later went much better. She is a fast learner.
Windy worms well and was vaccinated in May 2016.
She had a case of strangles in 2015, and was quarantined accordingly. With proper infection removal and irrigation she has recovered.
In July of 2015 she weight 1017lbs.
