Rescued: Red Princess

October 2018

Red Princess is a Shetland mare we received at the end of September in 2018. She arrived with Fonda

We were alerted to the two ponies on Facebook. We were able to work with law enforcement to have the horses signed over to us.

As you can see, she has gained lots of weight in the last four months. She stands 10hh and is currently at 450 pounds, up from 200 when we got her.

Like her friend, Fonda, Red Princess came to us unhandled.

She had received no healthcare, vaccinations or farrier work.

With the help of our volunteers, she is getting better. She will need someone she can trust to adopt her.

Her hip bones are sticking way out in this picture and you can see how shelfed out she was.

She was born in 2004 and is considered a sorrel.

She is ready to be adopted into a loving home. She is the taller of the two in this picture. Adopters should consider ensuring she is adopted with her friend, Fonda.
