Hope :: Adopted!
On July 29, 2010 Sedgwick Co. seized a mare, whom we called Grace, with a foal, whom we named Hope.
Hope, born April 1st, looked like a two week old baby in July. Both animal control and the vet didn't know how the baby was even alive. She had no fat and no muscle.
Grace, though not bad comparatively, had very little milk for Hope.
We fed baby Hope one handful of grain, Equine Senior, numerous times daily. We had to start small and work up.
Hope has a beautiful face.
Surprisingly she is up and walking slowly but very weak and wobbly.
Here is Hope and her mama Grace in September of 2010. Hope is growing out of her baby fur.
At this point, it is looking as if Hope may grow up healthy and fine.
Hope is eating and acting much better. Watch at her tail in this video taken in September 2010, compared to the video below, taken in July of 2010.

Hope, who is almost as tall as a her mom Grace, and still growing, has found her new forever home.
Connie (seen here clowning around with Hope) is going to train her and give her the better life we strive to give all our horses.

My how she is growing. It is very hard to believe this is the starving foal pictured at the top of this page.
