Pirate was a 25-year-old [2011] Appaloosa gelding who came to us as part of a county seizure of multiple horses including six donkeys ( Happy, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Bashful, and Sneezy), several ponies including Elvis, Smidge, Clyde, and Flicka, and several horses including Jacob and Jonathan.

We know Pirate had the utmost care and best treatment while he was with them.

As with Harley, Pirate breathed his last breath with Cole at his side. There is no easing the pain for a little boy who has lost two beloved horses inside of a year. But there is no greater kindness than a boy who opened his heart to love and care for two creatures whom no one else would have, and to usher them over the rainbow bridge with love and tender care.
